no hiding
Today I had a minor victory and I didn’t even realize it until afterward. I took the kids to the new pool in the area, located just a couple miles from our house. They have a great children’s play pool, superb facilities, and a price tag that assures we won’t be frequenting it often. Sorry, kiddos, I know you liked the warm water and all the fountains. I’ll get you wetsuits to wear in the FREE pool and I’ll splash you, ‘mkay?

Harry ready to go! 3 days ahead of time, wearing his big brother's skivvies and goggles. The trunks are on all cock-eyed as well.
I’ve been to the pool here (the FREE one) on my own to swim laps in the past. I’ve hurried from the locker room and slipped into the water as quickly as possible. Being submerged to your chin gives you anonymity, especially when you also have goggles on. You’re just a bobbing head at that point. But in the kiddie pool, everything is exposed. You can’t hide.
And I didn’t hide. It didn’t even occur to me to try to hide. And although I wasn’t quite as exuberant and willing to show as much skin as Harry, here, I didn’t feel self-conscious or out of place at all.
I’m really beginning to be comfortable in my own skin. And I’m really liking that

I’m so happy to hear that you are beginning to feel comfortable in your skin!! It is music to my ears!! Harry is so funny!!
love this
Yeah! SQUEEE for being comfortable in your own skin!
