Burst into Summer! week two
I’m tired. Dog tired. Bone tired. Whatever your cliché of choice, that’s what I am. It’s been an insanely busy week around here, and swelteringly hot to boot. My exercise routine has definitely taken a hit. Although I’ve been on my feet from morning till night, putting plenty of miles on my shoes to be sure, I haven’t done much *working out*. Tomorrow is the boys’ last day of school, and then the real craziness of summer vacation starts. I honestly don’t know when I’ll be able to get back to what I consider normal working out. I do know that this is going to be our most active summer on record, and that’s got to count for something!
On the upside, however, I’ve hit a good stride this week with my nutrition. I read the Kessler book cover to cover and learned so much – it’s definitely impacted the way I approach the grocery shelves and my kitchen cupboards. I’ll write more on that when time allows (HA! I say that like it’s going to actually happen!) but I’ll say right now: great book. You should definitely read it. Some of it is pretty dry – he doesn’t have the same knack for writing that, say, Michael Pollan does. But the information he gives you is eye-opening.
Without further ado, because I honestly don’t have time to write any more:
challenge start: 150
last week: 150
this week: 148.5
total loss: -1.5 pounds
Being in the 140s makes me smile

Whoo hoo! Congrats! Great week!
i have faith that you’ll get something figured out with your workouts
I’m glad one of us has faith in me! But trust me, I’m definitely getting in the exercise, just not in the traditionally accepted format
Whooohhooo!! It should make you smile!! What an accomplishment!! Soooooo stinkin’ proud of you!! WTG!! Way to hit the stride! You are gonna be one skinny hooker when you come back to the states next year!!
Congrats on the loss this week and figuring out the nutrition aspect of this journey.
Yay Karena! Great job. Hang in there with the fatigue. I can relate on many levels. What is the name of the book? I am curious.
Tiff – it’s called The End of Overeating by David Kessler. I really will try and post a little about the book in the next couple of days if I can swing it!
hurray for hitting the 140′s!! That is a big deal!
WOOOOOOOOO!!! Great job!!
I.am.so.tired.too.
I’ll bet you are! You’ve got twice as many kids and a husband who’s gone a lot. I should consider myself a lady of luxury in comparison
GO KARENA!!!! I am so freaking proud of you!!! I must check out that book, too. Going to look it up on my nook right now!
Congrats on reaching the 140s! I’m curious about the Kessler book too. Would love to read your feedback/review.
congrats on a great loss!
Yeah, go ahead and get on that book review post, m’kay? It’ll save me a lot of time…
Great job!
